the gazette is a visual kei rockband from japan. they formed in 2002 under the name though laterthe GazettE is a visual kei rockband from Japan. They formed in 2002 under the name ガゼット, though later changed the name to the GazettE in 2006. the GazettE has five members, ルキ (Ruki) on vocals, 麗 (Uruha) and 葵 (Aoi) on guitars, れいた (Reita) on bass and 戒 (Kai) on drums. They were recognized for their 1st single, “別れ道” (Wakaremichi), released in April 2002 and held their first live March 10th of that year. the GazettE was originally signed with the Matina label, but in March 2003, they switched over to the PS COMPANY label, right after replacing their original drummer ユネ (Yune) with their current one, 戒 (Kai) ex-drummer of Mareydi†Creia’. Since 2006 they have a European label contract with CLJ Records. In 2010 they signed in USA to Maru Music. the GazettE has released 4 studio albums, “DISORDER (2004), “NIL” (2006), “STACKED RUBBISH” (2007) and “DIM” (2009), 6 Mini-Albums and 16 singles. “NIL”, “STACKED RUBBISH” and “DIM” has also been released in Europe, North America and Taiwan. the GazettE recently released their latest single “SHIVER” and has already announced two new singles for the autumn/winter of 2010, “Red” on September 22nd, and “PLEDGE” on December 15th. Light is initially skeptical of the Death Note's authenticity, believing it is just a prank. However, after experimenting with it and killing two criminals, Light is forced to admit that the Death Note is real. After meeting with the previous owner of the Death Note, a Shinigami named Ryuk, Light seeks to become "the God of the New World" by passing his judgment on criminals. Soon, the number of inexplicable deaths of reported criminals catches the attention of the International Police Organization and a mysterious detective known only as "L". L quickly learns that the serial killer, dubbed by the public as "Kira" (derived from the Japanese pronunciation of the English word "Killer"), is located in Japan. L also concludes that Kira can kill people without laying a finger on them. Light realizes that L will be his greatest nemesis, and a race to prove mental superiority between the two begins.
